Road condition

We are looking to take the Camooweal road from Gregory Downs towards Mt Isa. Wondering if anyone has travelled this lately and know what sort of condition it is in please. Cheers Rads

Hi Rads
Most go on the sealed road via Clonncurry the unsealed road is is in similar condition to the dirt road which goes from Normington to leighcart falls.
Rain would certainly change that so check the weather before you go but like and dirt road just drive to the conditions.
Cheers John

12 months since we were on that road, but if you are happy on unsealed gravel roads, this one was on a scale of 1 to 10 - where 1 is horrendous & 10 is as smooth as a baby's bottom would have been a 5 or 6. ie. an average dirt road. It was dry at the time & had been for a while.

Yes we stayed at Adele's grove for the night and did the kayak thing and then spent a week at Gregory downs on the river great spot just keep an eye on the weather when it rains the river rises very quickly.
Cheers

The road out to Lawn Hill was a little rougher, but not a problem. Wife & I spent a couple of weeks working at Adels Grove as a 'Dishies' in September last year. Had a great time there, & was lovely to visit the Gorge again.
