Hi, have a question. Can you use the trailermate to jack up the side of the caravan to change a tyre? Or is it just for jockey wheel or stand at front of van? Thanks

Hi. Trailmate can be used as a jack. There should be a side clamp to fit on the jack and a corresponding anchor point or extension on the caravan chassis to attach it to. Also use the flat base on the jack.
You can IF. If you have a port That the attachment can slide into. Ours came with the attachment Bit. Our van is a Jayco outback. IMO you would have to get the tube welded to your unit.
So we only use the jack as a jockey jack with the flat base. We ordered our van with a second bracket for mounting the Trailermate Permantly on the van. Great for my back lifting the van up for overnight stays or just disconnecting total.
Would Highly Recommend to anyone with heavy draw bar or bad back.
Our van (Billabong) came from the factory supplied with a Trailermate for use as a jack. They had already pre-welded the mounting/anchor plates in place on the chassis above each wheel arch. I now also use it instead of the conventional jockey, by using the flat plate it's a lot more stable than jockey wheel. They're great to use as both jack and jockey, very easy to use.

Many vans are now made with a lifting lug already welded to both sides near the wheels. My Trailermate Jack came with the lugs so I welded them in myself.

They are great for a jockey wheel, but the load limit is 1000 kg, so for jacking up a 3000 kg van it will struggle to lift 1500 kg (one side). I have done it but it feels heavy if you know what I mean
and definitely wouldn't get under the van without supports. Make sure it is vertical all ways and under the lug properly, great for extra height on the a frame.
