Qld Developmental Road Conditions

Looking at van trip throughout western Qld over the next couple of months. Have a touring (not off road) Jayco with the J Tech suspension towed with Jeep GC. Considering a couple of Developmental Roads as follows:

  1. Diamantina Developmental Rd from Mount Isa to Boulia and Kennedy Developmental Rd from Boulia to Winton.
  2. Cooper-Bulloo Developmental Rds from Quilpie to Thargomindah

Not travelled such roads before and after general info such as bitumen width, shoulder conditions, traffic/truck issues, potential stone damage. Any other do's and/or don'ts, bewares etc.

Any help or advice would be much appreciate.

1.. Sealed road all the way, however, some is single lane seal.

2..  Same as for 1.. That is part of the Natural Sciences loop. It is sealed from Charleville to Cunnamulla. If you go out to Innamincka the bit in SA is well formed gravel. If you deviate down to Hungerford from Thargomindah to Eulo, most of that is well formed gravel but a lot is graded natural form road.

The roads are typical country roads. There is nothing much to worry about.

Thanks for the info especially the link to Natural Sciences Loop. Very interesting and wets the appetite to have a look around western Qld.

Cheers
