I have tried a couple of fairly cheap sets but now both Rob and I have settled on these.

They are about half the price of Apple and Samsung and for what you are using them for they would be fine.

I have a white set and Rob has the black.

We asked for and got a discount in store at JB Hi Fi Cairns and saved about $20 on each set.

Hi Dougwe,
I had that delay on the first set of wireless earphones and it was so annoying. We dont seem to get it with the buds we have now.
We have had ours for over a year and the charge is lasting a little less than when we first got them but I am still getting somewhere around five hours minimum from the charge.
I love the way they charge in the little pod type cradle and I only charge the cradle once a week on average.

Thanks all for your replies, I am still procrastinating, but have decided to go with ear buds rather than headphones, because they might get in the way if I get a bit too relaxed. I am persisting with using my Apple ear buds for the present. Previously I did purchase a pair of earbuds from Kogan for about $70, but one of the ear buds lost volume after about a month and all Kogan's instructions as to how to fix the problem proved worthless, so I asked for my money back. They were very helpful concerning my complaint and I have my money back, so will buy another pair of ear buds before long. I have bought quite a few things from Kogan over the years and while it was owned by the original owner everything went well, but since it has been sold I find it is cheap and nasty, but they do give good customer support and will refund money of the item is faulty. One of our daughters bought me a headphone set which worked very well, but, using them in Qld in the warmer climate I found them very uncomfortable and after a time of about 12 months the material that surrounds the headphone began to deteriorate and go all flakey.
Compared to my buds the headphone set was very uncomfortable.

I have a drawer full of cheaper (and in some cases dearer) that are either annoying
or hard to pair and keep paired. I hate stuffing around with gear that isn't idiot
proof. The computer nerds leave development and error identification
to poor 'ol users that get the craps and contact manuf. or fill digital space with complaints.

some have cheap batteries or high demand amplifiers that mean that you are
forever recharging just when the listening is good.

And Apple is the worst - good sound but always stuffing around with them every
time I get them out of the box - and way too dear also.
