Our GVM Weigh-in

Hi everyone,

Took the truck over to have it checked out by the GVM installers last week. They seemed a bit up and down IMO. He wanted to weigh the truck, Then changed his mind, and said it will be ok to go ahead with 3800kg up grade.

We got the quote emailed to us a few days later.

Again I talked it over with Old, saying to her why he, did not need to weigh the truck, after others here said we must.

This sat uneasy with myself over the weekend, telling Old that can recall going to the transfer station to drop off used engine oil and seeing the truck weight on the weigh bridge at near 3000kg on the way out from memory, with just myself at the wheel.confuse

So we decided to take the truck over to the Public Weigh Bridge today. We filled the fuel tank to the max =138lt

With Old and myself + the Jack russell out the Truck she weighed in at...........................................................

2940kg.

2940kg unloaded. We have an ARB steel Bull bar, No Winch. + side bars,1 x Milford cargo barrier, 1x platform fitted in rear with rubber mat over+ Orr's fridge slide. and 40kg boat loader fitted on top.+ the rear seats removed.

Add Old and Myself + the dog 170kg and the van ball weight 260kg.

And nothing else in the Truck.

We have a GVM of 3370kg before we get the Gvm upgrade.

Our van is a Jayco with an ATM of 2536kg.

What I'm saying to everyone is spend the $45 and know what you are dealing with.

I have been towing our van and thinking we were OK.

Not So.

I will be weighing the lot before we get going again.

We are getting the Lovells' upgrade. Just not sure by whom at this stage, till I do some extra looking into.

Grey
