Powder, I would Have a look at Caretaking opportunities, it is what we did for a time. The Land Magazine and Queensland Country Life, have the ads all the time, so you can try there first, but mostly it is work for you keep situation, sometimes food is thrown in, if it is a working farm. You will enjoy it, but sometimes you will get Hardarses, that want more then what they are wilingl to give, in those instances, it is better to walk away from them, even mid job.

On the top of that page, click on Classifieds, then look at Help Wanted, House sitter wanted, etc, as it will give some idea of what is around

Not knowing where you are, or what work you are prepared to do, there may be a shortage of people, for seasonal farming/fruit picking work, this year, due to border closures

In West Australia, (in the past), I have seen adverts for casuals to look after wheat silos, it may be the same in other States

We have been on the road for the past 6 years.

No accolades as there are many "Nomads" out there having 10/20 years traveling this country working and living the life style.

We have found that house/farm sitting have been ideal from the point of view for covering utilities and saving on diesel.

Unfortunately COVID 19 has just about curtailed all sitting opportunities.

We are currently parked up at the base camp and have so for the past 5 months.

With the closure of boarders things are not going to improve in the short term.

We thank our lucky stars that we have had 5/6 years and not just starting out.

In summary check out a few sites for house sitters, care taking positions or voluntary situations as well.

Thanks for the replies. We are in Qld and lucky enough to have a job arranged to go to on a cattle/cropping farm.

Can still keep distance etc in farm . Still have to be aware of hygiene etc .

Good to see that you have got it all sorted

I did read not so long ago, that Queensland was going to import people from the Pacific area, as seasonal workers, so there may be plenty of work up your way

Trying not to head this topic off onto a political one I can't see why SOME of the ones on long term 'Job Search' can't be made to do the work mentioned? Seems the obvious solution to me. Maybe some of the ones that have lost work due to CV19 could do it also.

I do recall reading early on, when the first lockdowns came, that the PM did say, that the Government was not in the business of private enterprise, or words to that effect

I will obviously apologise if my memory is not correct

If you work on the road ? Make sure your safe ! Detour or barriers, traffic control etc lol
