Looks like I might have found the Mother Lode, here. I'm 72 and all I have is an old dog, an old land cruiser and an 18' caravan. I do a good impersonation of Clink in Hogan's Hero's. I know NOTHING about caravans or the nuances of towing them. I also believe in safety in numbers when travelling. Hoping for your advice for a newcomer.

If you have an old land cruiser and an 18' caravan then you have credible equipment. The dog we just assume as part of the picture.
What is it you feel you dont know and need briefing on?
What experience have you already had at operating this sort of equipment?
Where are you considering operating and what sort of mileage / day etc?
The only advice I will give you unreservedly, I speak from mining industry experience. Particularly if you are operating Solo. Be fool for safety. 3 points of contact on steps .. chuck out food that might be a bit pongy. Just be the AntiBiggles. If you are out in the scrub and you even twist your ankle you are out of action. Carry drinking water / food enough for weeks.
I'm in Brisbane. Moggill. Stuck here until mid September due to upcoming hand operation.
