I've decided after much consideration I want a F350 when I grow up Possum. No problem with weights then and no WDH needed and the Gennie will fit in the back with heaps of room to spare.

A bit of cheeky internal rivalry going on at FCA! Makes good (clever even?) publicity for the U.S market.
When all models are aggregated, Jeep GC traditionally outsells Dodge Durango by around 3 to 1 in the U.S. I think FCA is aiming at boosting the profile of Durango with this version of SRT.
Jeep GC Trackhawk claims 0-60mph in 3.7secs / 522kw, Durango SRT now claims 3.5 secs / 533kw. Both fundamentally the same car, both have the same 6.2 litre Dodge Hellcat engine.
I think Durango has undergone some minor tweaking of the 6.2 litre to claw the extra 0.2 sec. It isn't coming here as it is largely for the U.S domestic market and the GC fills the space (in all variants) for FCA in world markets. Need to find out a bit more about the tow rating though, "just shy of 4000kg" sounds ambitious!
Incidentally, the RRP for Jeep Trackhawk in AU is eyewatering, has to be quoted depending on personalised spec, but I recently saw a brand new 2018 demo for sale $169,000.

We heard of a bloke who was bailed up at Clermont waiting for an oil filter for quite awhile - for an F250! The manager of the CP then was a former workmate.
Umpie1, because it's big doesn't necessarily mean it's a gas guzzler any more. The Yank vehicles are getting really economical now. The petrol Dodge 1500s shut down 4 cylinders while waiting at traffic lights, the Dodge Ram 2500 gave about the same as my last Nissan Patrol (not towing) - around 11L/100kms

We owned a Ram for 6 years in the USA. 1500 with the big v8. Lone Star. Over 60000 mile, 100000k, we averaged 21 mpg. Imperial gallons. It was a 2013 model. The first of the Fiat built RAMS. Best vehicle I ever owned. Cost about 50% per mile to run than our current Jeep.
Then I got very sick while in the USA. Like 40% chance of coming home. Boss made me sell it!!
But with covid-19 it would have been in storage gathering dust. So good thing she made me. sniff.

That's about 11.2 L/100km if my calculator is correct.
Not bad compared to my 4.2L efi (petrol) Patrol.
I get 15 L/100 on the highway, 17 about town & about 19 pulling the van. Have got as high as 24 going up ranges or undulating roads/headwinds.
Ive got a 2019 Ram 2500 and it gets better fuel economy than my
previous 2004 HDJ100/auto both towing and non towing.
Wonder why I hadnt made the move yonks ago.
