Where are you?
I use the recycle place on Daws Road Edwardstown. They will weigh our front and rear axles separately and the fee is usually $10. Sometimes they don't charge.

I do not know Adelaide so cannot say specifically, but for general information here are some suggestions. The local tip has a weighbridge and usually a visible gauge for the driver. If you ask the operator they will usually let you weigh the front and rear axle seperately and a total for the vehicle Not sure about doing caravan axles. The local scrap dealer also has a weighbridge and will be happy to let you use it for a small fee or free if it is not busy. But there are commercial public weighbridges who will do what you want for a modest fee and print out the results. aww

When I reclassified my bus I had to get a certificate from a recognised commercial weighbridge(at a recycling center) and the operator was happy to weigh the axles seperately too included in the basic cost. Go at a time when it is not busy. Unfortunately a lot of weighbridges used by trucks now are remotely operated and the truckies log in to get their weights so not suitable for random casual use any more. hmm

Whilst I cannot offer advice on a specific location,most council tips have a weighbridge,and will let you weigh for free,provided you don't need a printout.Just drive front axle of car onto bridge,record weight,move forward so both axles of car are on bridge,record weight, then move forward until all axles of car and van are on bridge and record total weight.,or drive forward until only van axles are on bridge,and record weight.From these figures you can do all the calculations you need,except towball weight,which can be done using the bathroom scales method,which is the most accurate.Beware towball weight scales that are notoriously inaccurate,with HUGE variances between the readings on the various models I tested before they all were given away to people I don't like! Cheers

P.S Many quarries also will let you weigh for free,but only when they are not too busy.Saturdays usually are good,but,like the tip bridges,you will not be allowed to uncouple the van to get your ball weight.Out with the bathroom scales!

In Victoria some (many?) of the government roadside weighbridges intended to keep trucks legal operate unmanned 24/7. You simply drive in and weigh as you wish. Occasionally governments do really sensible things.
