Happy Queensland day

And what a fantastic day it is too.

Today is Queensland day & the Weather Gods are smiling on us.

In Brissy it's a beautiful sunny day with barely a cloud in the sky.  Current temp 17.5 with an expected max of 23. (8 overnight) A very slight breeze just moving the top branches.  BOM says 6km/h.

And what am I doing .. out in my van somewhere enjoying this great State?   No, I'm at home building a new side fence & then mowing the lawn, hopefully one last time before winter.   Might make a quick escape to Bribie or The Sunny Coast for a few days on Monday.

But, I am putting the final touches on planning our Spring van tour, but it looks like I will have to compete with an influx of Southerners, & welcome they are, escaping north from the terrible southern Winter before our Summer humidity etc sets in.

ps ... I think that I need to raise the priority of 'Installing a diesel heater' in the van so that I can enjoy winter caravanning.

Happy Qld Day to you too. It's nice up here in Toowoomba also. We were going to head south in the Spring and have a look at some silo art. Have some medical things to sort out so maybe best to stick a bit closer to home, but that's 3 months away and lot's can happen in 3 months. One good thing, there's plenty to see no matter which state you are in. Cheers.

Well, sitting here in tassie. A cool 11 de degrees and not a clould in the sky, 40km from the cleanest air in the industrialized world ( see woolnorth air research station). You can keep Queensland, Its ok for a quick trip but.
cheers

Cupie I can assure that the $$$ spent of a diesel heater will be worth every cent especially of course during the winter months.

Is Qld the ONLY State that celebrates it's own day? I thought that Victorians were the most parochial, but after living up here for a short time, not so, Qld leaves Vic. For dead
Certainly not being critical because I love this place, but boy oh boy, they certainly wear their colours before all others...it seems that a few states are now putting themselves before the national status lately, I am originally from NSW but have always answered as an Australian, now I am Living in Queensland, but still call myself Australian 1st, maybe soon I will be converted, but not if it is like the little fashionable town that I moved to from the 'big smoke suburbs' in NSW, they told me that I would be considered a local after 20 years (not quite, I made it in 15), but even so, if that's the case, I probably won't live long enough to become a true QUEENSLANDER!

Oh, happy Queensland day,
