Hi, looking for a small air fryer to take away in the van, does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi and welcome to the GN forum. Lots of helpful people in here and the search function works well from the blue bar at the top.

Your question would get more responses if you copy it and post it in the " whats cooking" section.

good luck

Frank

Welcome to the gang Olley, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I was looking at them not all that long ago and found heaps on evilbay. Most appliance shops have a range as well, including the usual chain stores. My daughter up in Townsville has a Phillips and loves it.

OH! I decided not to get one in the end. My Weber Q does everything I want. That and I'm not always on 240v. Having a heating element they would need a lot of power and a big Inverter that will chew up the power from your battery set up, or, use a Gennie.

Oooops, I didn't say that last bit about the Gennie. KFC made me say it.

Keep Safe out there.

Welcome from me as well.

The air fryer question has been raised in our household / caravan many times.
We see the adverts from time to time on TV which promote all kinds of cooking and how easy it all is.
My daughter in law has one and she says she would not be without it but as my husband points out, she is in a house and not a caravan.
His argument is the space that they take up along with his secondary defence of having to run on 240 v or use heaps of battery power.
We do a little free camping and my argument is that while we are free camped we dont need to use it as our Weber is fine for most things.
So, now we are down to the space.
My argument with space is that we have an oven in the van which we have hardly ever used in three years and it could be stored in there. To do this I would have to remove the slide in shelving and the cooking trays that I have stored in there at present.

Without wanting to detract from the OPs question of what brands etc I would like to hear some constructive comments from anyone who may have on and use it in their caravan or MH.

Why do you swear at it iana and why does your wife swear by it?

Regards

Angie

We are full time in the van, the air fryer is great for cooking and reheating (chips come up as freshly cooked), they do require 240v, but we have not had a problem with that so far, it cooks very quickly and she cooks everything from roasts to cakes. Heats up pies beautifully.
However as you say they down side is, they take up room and add weight. If you didn't have the barbecue, that would not be an issue. The cleaning can be a bit demanding, and is usually the job I get. We have the bigger model Philips, and it is about 5-6 years old.

Hi we have a Bellini air fryer in our caravan and use it just about every day from cooking frozen chips to roasts and steak . We leave the bbq home nowadays.Anything you can cook in your oven at home you can cook up in the AirFryer in a third of the time. We would rather use this unit than the oven much quicker and healthier .We also have a Phillips at home.
Happy cooking Dhutime
