Sanitizer vs washing hands

Just been chatting with neighbour who's a nurse, from very safe distance. She recently did a short course of which part was hand sanitizing/washing. There are a lot of bugs left after sanitizing which show up under UV light...... Wash hands as soon as you can!

We've been being told for well over a week now, that washing with Soap and water is by far the best method of cleaning our hands.   Bit like the Toilet Paper debacle.   People just don't listen, or want to believe.

I used to be sure that we Aussies were a bit more intelligent than the average Yank, but these days, I'm not so sure.  biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Apparently soap breaks down the viruses fats which cover it and so it dies where the alcohol based sanitizer don't and therefore only partly do the job according to an article I recently read.

It could also be propaganda seeing we are so short of the stuff. But, I will continue to wash my hands as using soap will help the frontline people stay safe.

I know, I can say that because I am at home with unlimited water.  Living in a van and relying on what's in your tanks is a different matter.

For want of something else to think about that doesn't cause a deeply ingrained Paranoia-- voting on toilette paper that doesn't exist is a issue- how? Brainwashing this country is what the last 6 weeks been mostly about
