Hi John,

The safest site to find a legitimate travel partner is www.australianexplorer.com/forum/lonely/index.html

This site is Queensland owned and operated and there are no scammers. It's free to place an add, all the best

Be careful a lot of scammers out there. Don't send anyone any money no matter how sad their story seems.

Yes I am heading off on my own soon it would be nice to travel with someone even if not together meet up at places, I am thinking of staying at some farm stat places because they are quite cheap but wonder if it could be a tad isolated if on your own,

G'day all. I reckon there's a lot of blokes an sheilas lookin fer a travel mate. BUT... The blokes are keen and the sheila's are too worried about gittin into a double harness with someone they don't know. Theirs a lot of weird blokes out there, and the same with the sheila's too. l can't see why it can't work out though, I've been thinkin about buyin a good sized van or a fifth wheeler an git in back on the wallaby trail again, but after half a life of travelin around the country on me lonesome it's a bloody waste not bein able ta share it with someone else. I have an excellent 2002 Land cruiser I'm about to build a tray back camper for it, but thought if there was someone with a van and no tow vehicle or partner we could work out a deal. But it's always still a bit risky, but good luck anyway, a couple of blokes travelin together might be easier or a couple of sheila's, ya know how they like ta natter all day, they would probably take a month ov Sunday's ta hook up the van. An they can't change a flat or skin an cook a bit ov road kill anyway.

Speak for yourself Jim.  I've done plenty of both.

I will be looking for a travelling companion in a few months and I have a small dog who is very important to me. I do have a beaten up old hiace but if I got to know and trust someone I would be happy to share expenses and travel together in their rig. Maybe this could be a permanent thread for people like us?

Not into eating road kill, I can shoot, skin, pluck, catch & cook game though. Changing a  a  tyre is not a problem either.. I am quite happy traveling & camping out on my "Pat Malone" :)

I hope to start traveling in the next few months and would like to travel with company. I live on Lake Macquarie in NSW. It would be handy to meetup with someone and make some plans first..... we dont want to get a couple of hundred miles down the track and find we get on each others nerves. I am a straight guy, 72 but certainly not looking for the "big romance", so open to contact from guys or gals. Open to suggestions..... I have already tried Oasis.com and Companions.com but no real interest there. I had one lady that was looking promising, but turned out to be an asian scammer.

Its hard to find the right person to travel with . Ive bought a Toyota hiace and am looking to get back on the road next year sometime. Get togethers are a good start ive not been very active on this site busy with life, busy staying Alive after two bouts of melanoma and just general life itself.

Keep Safe out there.
