City people dont seem to grasp the reality of country health. Here localy the doctor shortage is a reality, one permanent doctor that wants to leave & another doctor that is temporary & rotated. If you need to see a doctor its at least a 2 week wait (unless you are dying) The hospital has been down graded to a clearing station. 2 years ago i had a heart attack, went to the hospital & it was confirmed. Took 2 days to get an RFDS plane to fly me to Adelaide. The ambulance localy was busy so a transfer ambulance from hospital to plane came from Wallaroo 3hr round trip for the ambulance. Finished up with 6 Stents & all good now.
Now NT (like TAS) have imposed entry restrictions. I expect that very soon all other states will follow and perhaps within each state there will be specific areas in lock down. So if you're traveling or planning to, expect your movements, including going home, to be severely curtailed. So I am staying put.
Hi to all Forum members,
An important heads up on the current situation...
The Prime Minister & Treasurer held a press conference less than an hour ago which suggests the Australian government will take steps to stop all Non Essential Travel forthwith.
This will impact all of us, particularly those that have sold our homes & are on the road on a permanent basis.
Regards,
CANDA.
It wont be long and I would imagine that most other states will follow. This was not on that news broadcast but it was reported apparently on social media the 10 new cases of the virus were from tourists from the USA in the Barossa Valley.
We are all being told not to travel, how hard can that be? I guess there will be a lot of grey Nomads that will spend a very cool winter in their southern home states.
Regards
Angie.
Stay safe and avoid travel.

In light of what has happened in other countries, (in my opinion) I think that it is a matter of time, before all non essential travel must stop, is declared in Australia
Lucky for me, all things were being equal, and I have just returned to home base, in WA
I shall self isolate for fourteen days, as I have just heard about the ten American tourists, who had tested positive, in the Barossa area of SA
They have not said which town/s in the Barossa, they were in, but I was in Nuriootpa for over a week, which is a town in the Borossa area
They are at The Louise Resort, corner of Seppeltsfield and Stonewell Road, Marananga in the Barossa, Tony.
That is in the centre of a triangle formed by Nuri, Greenock and Tanunda.
If you call the Louise on 08 85622722, they may be able to say when their group arrived and if you need to consider isolation at all. They may also tell you to b@#$&$ off!

Chaos, mayhem, confusion. Good my job here is done
Declaring a "major emergency", authorities in Western Australia and South Australia have announced tough new measures that will see both states close their borders to slow the spread of coronavirus.
The WA Government has announced it will close its borders from Tuesday afternoon, although exemptions will apply for essential services and workers.
Interstate arrivals will be required to self-isolate for 14 days.
Earlier today, the SA Government announced it will establish 12 border crossings where travellers will be required to sign a declaration about their health and ability to undertake mandatory self-isolation for two weeks.
Those measures will come into effect from 4:00pm on Tuesday.

Thanks for that info, Ian
We have now decided to self isolate for many reasons
Although we left Nuriootpa eight days ago, and obviously have no symptoms,we only got home the other day
We did try to distance ourselves from others, but, who knows if we have the virus, without any symptoms
The dear old mother in law, at 96 years, would probably not cope, if we unintentionally, passed any virus onto her
Our children, and grandchildren, have demanded that we self isolate, (they are doing the shopping for us), because there are positive cases in our area

how do you find out where positive cases are i've seen nothing to indicate where all the positive cases have been located
hopefully the 'powers that be' will get better at determining and implementing effective and efficient measures to combat this COVID thing. we don't want to end up with the cure being worse than the disease, uh? watch the money markets, stock market, banks, etc. that is where the real problem is, not the coronavirus ... Google Rum Rebellion (a bunch of financial/share market/gold experts) and take care folks ...

sounds like quote from mr trump or in other words "lets get back to business no matter what it costs "
not a fan of the chap, i'm afraid. no, let business take care of itself, along with a helping hand from the govt as is happening. unfortunately, my comment was misunderstood - google Rum Rebellion (a bunch of folks who are financial/stock market/financial/bank experts, who don't always agree with each other, but who have a generally commonly held view of the global and Aussie economies) and you will see what I am alerting you to. not giving financial advice of any sort, btw, as that would require me to know your particular details, and I have retired and now just dabble in research for my own benefit. cheers and best.
