Tablelands Hwy NT

We plan to travel up the Tablelands Hwy in July, has anyone been up there to advise of conditions. We have a 22ft van.

Regards

I understand that it is a single lane bitumen road, built primarily for the transport of cattle.
It would be a high quality surface but you would need to be prepared to get right off the bitumen to allow cattle trucks to pass if travelling in the opposite direction of overtaking you.
Cheers,
Peter

It's a while since I have driven it but all subsequent reports indicate it has changed much. Most of the surface is single lane bitumen and is OK. However the topo 20 or so kilometres is a bit of a hobby horse road with the same surface quality with some of it a little patched. You may have to slow a bit to to stop your rig from hobby horsing We were down to about 70km/h to get a reasonable ride in some places.

Thank you for your replies. It looks like it will be ok. Looking forward to this trip ( as long as Coronavirus does not cause problems )
