My Windsor van still has the original rubber backed curtains and although still ok have seen better days.

Does anyone know where I can buy replacement ready made curtains the same as those originally supplied. I dont want to instal blinds or venetians as I like having curtains.

I have checked online but everyone either wants to sell me curtains with flowers or those blinds.

I suggest you find a local to make them for you and buy the material yourself. There are lots of colour and pattern choices and various qualities of fabric.
Margaret made ours 15 years ago and they are still great.

 We brought our material from Spotlight, my lady did the sewing and using a block out fabric.

Spotlight is in nearly all larger centres and reasonable priced.

We got a local to do our home curtains, 3 passes on the back makes them block out the light totally through the fabric, which they organized.

Howdy BigD.

I bought material with a rubber like backing and cut to size needed and my daughter did the sewing for me. I hung on stretchy wire. six years ago now and still look new. Looks homely in the Aluminium TeePee and I tell you that for free.

If you go to Spotlight they may have someone that can sew for you, can only ask.

We got ours made by a haberdasher in Colac , using the old curtains as a template , not that the old one were tatty or anything , just really ugly , did a lovely job , if only they did upholstery too !!.

My wife got the material from spotlight and made them,at the spotlight she used they have a contractor that make if required

No!

Mate, it was only the older Indian ladies in the tribe that made the blankets. Us braves were too busy doing what braves do and what happens with braves stays with braves.

Hi DMaxer,

Here is an online curtain shop that sell insulated curtains.
I did our previous van with this fabric and it worked well. It was not too expensive from memory although I did hem them myself.
I would imagine in your circle of friends you would have someone who could sew them up for you on a machine.

I was a bit surprised that I couldnt buy replacement curtains the same as the ones that were put in the van when it was sold new. I would have thought that others would have had their curtains wear out and be able to replace them just like any other item in the van.

It would seem that curtains are out of style and all caravans now come with those blinds instead. Come to think about it I haven't seen any new caravans with curtains.

 At least with curtains you can  still have good air circulation but maintain privacy with the window open. They are also easy to remove to wash/replace. All the new vans I have seen have the integrated blind/fly screens along with the push out windows

Got ours  done by Spotlight in Toowoomba Qld. Took the old ones in, and they made curtains to the size of the old ones. Best $400 spent.

Thanks lkgr. I would like to just keep curtains similar to the ones I already have so I think I will contact a few Spotlights to see if I could get similar.

I thought the Big Chief with his tribe's experience would be able to help but he has been very silent.  biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin
