Hi All!

Just joined as a user.  We are planning our big half lap for 2022 (Vic, SA, WA, NT & Home)... Just purchased a Jayco Journey O/B 17.53 (May delivery)... yes, one might ask why the early purchase!  Twofold, I sold my on road van quicker than I expected.... The second reason is I know the van will need a bit strengthening & mods.  The lead in time will give me time to double up all internals (eg I have ordered extra hinges & panelling for my shelving) & protecting the externals equally.  Will be a bit of a project - and am happy to do in my own time.

I'm not sure what the posts tend to do - but once I get and start to get into it - is this something the forum members would like to see progress updates for?

Thanks for allowing me to join - be a good tool as I research products and what others have done.

Mark

Welcome to the gang Mark, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Yes, I for one and sure others here love to see updates of rennos or builds so just put it all in 'Show us your rig' section of the forum.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

A warm welcome from me also, Mark (mark r)

There is a section somewhere here called show is your rig

Some of us, do like to see any building/rebuilding/alterations, of rigs

It gives us food for thought, on any improvements, we can do to our own rigs

Mark, nice to see you here.

Just a note of caution. In another post welcoming another new vanner, you mention your choice of Jayco for warranty coverage. As a 3 time Jayco owner, that is sensible BUT check with Jayco before you make any structural changes during the warranty period. That could be a quick way to lose your warranty coverage.

Fair call Ian.  Im only planning to strengthen doors (extra hinges), cupboards (more shelving) and draws (more screws in runners) internally - and if one fell off Im not the kind of guy to claim on that... but if one of the stubs let go - then thats another matter!  Underneath I only plan to protect rather than modify.  But will take your guidance though and clarify the ins and outs when its off the line ready to collect!

cheers Mark
