A couple of stalkers on here are doing their best to ruin technical topics they obviously, repeat, obviously know nothing about. If they can't comprehend facts, they would best serve the rest of us by not viewing technical threads. Their only intent is continual personal attacks. We would, imo, be best served if Admin shut THEM up, not locking the thread.

We had a topic yesterday that was deleted overnight.
Someone claimed that snorting saline solution was a preventative measure for coronavirus and influenza infections.
I responded, politely and clinically, with an excerpt from a WHO "myths" FAQ and some other authoritative sources. I put considerable effort into my research, but today it's nowhere to be seen. I can understand that this forum should not be a source of disinformation, but IMO the best way to address such disinformation is to debunk it with factual evidence.

Hi all, The weights thread was closed because it was getting personal and we do not allow personal attacks on our forum. In terms of the thread that suggested a method of protecting yourself against Coronavirus, I appreciate your efforts, Dorian, to reply with factual information addressing the claims. However, I made the decision that people may not read all of the information in your post and I really don't want our forum to host misinformation about something that is such a serious global issue. I hope you understand.
I thought the posts were a bit odd (the cures for coronavirus, the flue) & endorsed in thought dorian's writing.
Doug, where did you get that yucky picture? I sometimes wonder about those people who insist on wearing rings, pins in all sort of body parts.
About those piercings ...
I had a guy working for me once who had dozens of them all over his face (ears. eyebrows, nose, tongue & lips) including one in his eyebrow that he would sometimes put a safety pin in with a length of chain to his nose. On his holidays he would head off on a bus trip to Kings Cross & meet up with his fellow piercing mates.
All the other staff reckoned that he was my son as you would only employ someone who looked like that if he was one of the family. As it turned out, I would have been very happy to have him as a Son.
In fact he was a very dependable & dedicated worker who was a great favourite of all of his mostly female fellow employees. He was a devoted carer to his invalid mother too. The girls would all gather around on his return from holidays to hear the outlandish stories of the piercings that he had seen and where his latest ones were. Some of them would make you shudder, and make procreation an almost impossible task, I think.
BTW .. I have difficulty with home grown cures being posted here or anywhere. I have great faith in our Medical fraternity here in Au, but not so much the giant Global drug companies, particularly the Yank Pharmaceuticals.
