Another thread mentioned staying clear of places during school holidays so I thought I'd create a file to keep on my computer/phone. I've combined the states where possible to keep things simple:

Thanks for that Mike, very handy - Other than Easter we prefer not to be travelling/camping with families with kids - Although last year (2019) we were often camped next to young families that were "home schooling" almost like the "Hippies" of yesteryear.

Thanks Mike, I do keep a track of those myself and mark on my Calendar on the Poota.
Possum, I have met many families doing just that and have found them friendly and the kids polite and very knowledgeable. They seem to learn more out in the playground than in a class room. I might be just lucky though that they have been a good bunch.
Keep Safe on the rods and out there.

Hi Possum, can I ask why you don't like travelling/camping with families? Depending on the people of course, which is always a lucky dip, I love to see children out and about, whooping it up.

Lily it's not the kids - it's the parents, that don't control them - driving too fast on roads, push and shove when I want to meander through the shops, the escalation of prices due to holiday peak pricing.

Totally see your points there Possum, especially the escalation in prices which, fair enough, the owners of CP's etc have to do to make their businesses worth the effort.
And yes, some parents and their children can be right pains with their carelessness and stupidity. I do love to see families on the road though.
It's not just caravan parks, our block of 15 two bedroom units has gone from no kids 30 years ago to about 6 units with kids. Increasing over schools holidays. The kids are not bad kids but these days supervision is getting thinner. Seems to be many more kids in the area living in units..... I'm getting old!
