Foxtel IQ4 Box

Hi all,

I will be hitting the road again soon and plan to take my IQ4 Foxtel box with me. The new box requires 2 cables connected to the satelitte to work fully but am told it will still work with one cable but you will not be able to record.

My question is will a splitter with one IN terminal with multiple OUT terminals work? MY hope is to have the one cable IN from  the satellite then 2 cables from the splitter OUT terminals into the IQ4 BOX then a 3rd cable from the splitter OUT terminal into the VAST system.

See picture below. Will this work?

G'day Col

The ideal setup for what you wish to achieve is 2 cables from a dual LNB to your van. Those two cables then need to be connected to the V & H terminals of a satswitch (see picture) you can then connect 2 cables to your IQ4 and one to your VAST box and it will all work just like it does at home.

I have done many installations in caravans this way and it is a proven method. I use it in my van too.

The pic you have posted is not intended for what you wish to achieve.

Hope that helps

Frank

Hi all; As KFT has said you could use one of those multi switchers and that will work. Another way is to use a quad LMB and run 4 cables, 2 cables for you foxtel, 1 cable for your vast receiver and the other would be used as a spare or for alignment of your dish.

Thanks KFT and Valiant81 for your replies. This has always been a great forum for information and all one has to do is ask.

Thanks again.

I have successfully used the set-up in the pictures attached without any splitter.
