Don't forget the heavy duty screw on end caps & pipe glue.
Fit a metal disc inside the end caps for improved strength with a bit of foam rubber over them to cushion the impact of items on the caps.
I drilled holes through the caps to allow insertion of a big 'nail' or 'Peg', through which a padlock is fitted. An extra long shaft padlock fitted diagonally thru the cap & pipe would do the same job.
I went to one of the big discount plumbing outlets - in Canberra it was Southern Plumbing. They cut a 2 metre length for me.
I found the Big Green Shed had only 1 metre lengths of 150mm pipe - at least here in Canberra. Of course, the two short lengths can be joined with a joiner if you so desire. (Note the joiners are actually the screwed ends - they do double duty as joiners and screwing the end caps on.)
The mounting brackets were bought from the Jayco yard in Geelong during our trip there. But they are available from other outlets. Or simply use the stainless straps as suggested by Dougwe - although I don't think they will work well on the front A frame where mine is fitted.
A useful tip - put screwed caps on both ends. Otherwise sooner or later bits fall off the poles at the far end and it is hard to pull them out.
My last van I drilled a hole in the centre of the screw cap, used a small bolt and nut to secure a small chain the other end to the pipe, no chance of losing the cap.

I bought one off eBay. I found it was cheaper than going to Bunnings and buying all the bits, and it came with the strap mounts as well. Just make sure the one you get is the right length and width for your intended gear. The only issue I had was the hinge was a bit flimsy - no big deal to replace with a heavier one.
