Another "Accident"

Must say that I'm surprised that there has been no comment on yesterdays Bruce Highway incident, where a Hilux was flipped into a ditch when the camper trailer it was towing developed a sway, taking both vehicles off the road.Following car had dash cam,and all was on channel 7 news.Cheers

Didn't see it Perhaps the M1 accident on the Central Coast was seen as more important. I'm hanging out for when the roadworks is finished (sometime in the next century I'm betting)

Very common in this area for van to get the wobbles though all others only seen the end result. Was interesting the detached van did not need front jockey wheel when being recovered. My comment. If it is a hilly area and there is wind, slow right down and be aware of overtaking vehicles. Neil

LOL....from Neil's comments it seems like the camper was missing a bit of the necessary ball weight? And another one bites the dust!  Cheers

Now I have a real problem with people discussing accidents. The only people who really know the truth are the people involved and were present. Murphys law has a way of biting people on the arse big time. Several years ago I was involved in a fatal accident. There was a million different stories going around my small town. There was only 2 that mattered to the coroner. Mine and the other driver. The fact that the other driver was blind drunk at the time sort of diminished his credibility. (Guess where he is now). Go ahead be my guest and agonise the what ifs and maybes. Worship the dash cam footage. Just remember ole mate Murphy is ready and waiting. Regards Pete.

Should feel it before it ever gets that far ! Ive towed 100 of 1000s Ks delivering cars , horse floats , boats etc . Before you get anywhere near the speed limit you check the balance / stability!! Just because youve done things by the book doesnt necessarily mean its all safe !! A little turn and feel how trailer of van settles ? Then theres the tired, not concentrating factor ! Some just DONT take driving seriously! They are doing by the book !!
