I NEED TO DRAIN/DONATE BLOOD

I have high iron levels, high feritin an cholestoral.

Can't use statins as they have damaged my kidneys.

Dr said I need to donate or drain blood weekly as is the only way to reduce levels.

Problem,  Donor centers only by appointment 2 months wait, Pathology refuse to do it, some medical practice will but not often enough.

I had high iron levels and my doctor told me to donate blood. after 27 blood donations of whole blood every 12 weeks my iron levels are normal.

Contact the Red Cross blood bank, they can not get enough blood.

Phone 131495, That is the head office in Adelaide. They make appointments for all  centers in Australia.

They are short of people over the Christmas break. I gave blood last week and will donate again between Christmas and new year. [That is only 10 weeks]

When on trips around the country I have given donations . in Perth, Rockhampton, Grafton, Hervey Bay and Toowoomba.

Visits are far and few, e.g. the next one in Port Augusta is 3 days 17th December.  I have been told I need 1 every week for 5 weeks then every 3 months.  Tracking mobile units is not going to work.

I have seen 3 Drs and all are refusing to fill in the online form.

The last Dr I saw I had to show him how to use the online portal.

He then refused and said that none of the levels in my blood, Feritin etc were high. His English was very poor and he just didn't want to be bothered.

3 other Drs say they are dangerously high.

I have now forced their hand, watch this space.

(Can't tell you how just yet)

Now I have a result! Not what I expected.

It turns out that draining blood more than 3 monthly can cause serious problems for us older folk.

Now Dr is treating me for diabetes. WTF.
