I have a cracked glass window on my drift away little robin mini. I believe the glass can be replaced but I need to remove the ' Blade ' from the window. It is a wind out window and I cannot remove the blade without disconnecting the winder arms. The only way I can see to do this would be to drill out the middle rivet on the black external plastic things and slipping the winder arms out.
Personally I would first speak to a glass replacement specialist such as O'Brien's Auto Glass, prior to drilling out fittings that may not be readily available to replace.

Yep. Drill out the pop rivet, knock out the plastic plug in the top hinge extrusion (either end but one may be better than the other) and then the window frame can be slid out. Remove the sealing rubber then take the screws out of the corner stakes to disassemble the frame and the glass will come out. If you use polycarbonate sheet instead of glass you will never replace one again and it is an easy DIY job. The pop rivet is a bit hard to get. They are small diameter but quite long. Those who are practiced can do the whole job in about 15 minutes. The first one took me several hours. Cheers, Peter
ps... where are you? I have some of those rivets and other bits too in Adelaide.
ps 2... O'Brians and the others are unlikely to have a clue how to do this glass replacement. Get them to cut the new glass and do the rest yourself. Easy peasy.

I am in vic. however the Geelong rv people have given me the name of their glass repairer, I will stick with glass as I am preparing to sell the van (too small now that we travel with the dog) and want to match the other side.
Thanks P and M
