G'day befre.
1. best period would be September to November.
2. Camping places and road houses in that area are open all year.
3. Mostly you will not need reservations except in a few very popular areas.
4. It is never too crowded to travel except along the coast from Sydney, so head straight inland.

How long do you have to do this trip. It is 4,000km by the shortest route with no exploring, so you should plan for at least 8 weeks. You are driving the same as from Russia to Portugal.

Cheers,

Peter

G'day Peter

thanks for the answer

we plan this trip for over 58 days totally and hire a campervan and try to explore all the nice and beautifull of South Australia

we think that a period of 58 days will be enough to travel from Sydney to Perth don't you?

Get the App wikicamps australia. Costs a few dollars, but you will save that the first night you don't pay campground fees

Make sure you take i the south coast and south west corner of WA otherwise you will miss some of the best bits Turn left at Norseman and go to Esperance and follow along the coast. Some of the best beaches in the country.

Frankly the time you have is minimal. It can be done but it will be a rush.

Inland it could be quite hot at that time and it would be too far to follow the coast from Sydney to Adelaide, so consider starting in Adelaide.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi befre. I say just go for the trip you have planned and enjoy as much as your time allows. We dont all have the luxury of being retired and having time to poke about seeing everything. Lots and lots of everyday Australians dont get to see everything on their limited yearly holidays but at least they get out there and see what they can see. 58 days from Perth to Sydney sounds pretty good to me!!! Regards Pete.

Hello befre

If I was traveling from Sydney to Perth I would allow 6 x 8 hour days (48 hours) for the driving, leaves you 52 days for all the exploring

You will see a lot and make many memories in your travels

Enjoy your time in Australia

Jeff

Hi befre

As others have already said, you can travel from Sydney to Perth, in the southern half of the country, at any time of the year, and everything will be open

Also as others have already said, if you put wikicamps Australia, on your phone/ipod/laptop etc, for less than $10 AUD, you will see where all the free camps are

You will not be able to see everything, as I have lived here for over 50 years, and not seen everything yet

The following states, (you will be travelling through), have the following school holiday dates, and this is the time when it will be a little busy, on the roads and in caravan parks

New South Wales: 30 September to 11 October
Victoria: 20 September to 7 October
South Australia: 28 September to 13 October
Western Australia: 28 September to 13 October

Hope that this info is useful to you

We have quarantine zones throughout Australia. You basically can't take any fresh food into the different zones. So eat all fresh food before you go into Western Australia for example.

We have had our car inspected, Western Australia border, South Australia at Ceduna heading east & from NSW to Victoria.

Get a hat with good ventilation around the head & a flynet. The flies are not there all the time but at times can get on your nerves.
