why I still love Sporting events.

Late news!!! Probably fish & chips wrapping.

As you would be well aware the Ashes Cricket Test is over and the Aussies retain the Ashes Cup.

But!!! we did not win the series.

The POMS certainly had our opening batsmen, particularly That great runner scorer David Warner's measure.

He must have been Shi**ng himself as he tried to overcome his slump in the last innings of the Ashes.

BUT!! He will come back bigger and better.

And of course the other sporting disaster over the weekend was a rugby team that I follow.

My Belovered Broncos. ( still believe in them, maybe next year.) received a thrashing from the Parramatta Eels.

Shh... shho... I will whisper the score... Eels 58  Bronco 0. and the other Qld team defeated was the Brisbane Lions in AFL.

Sport sure is a huge revenue raiser for all concerned.

Ok, that's is it for now as I am off to have a game of golf and try to beat the course.

I love sporting events too.

I played Aussie Rules for 19 seasons and then ran marathons until I was 46.

Now just a spectator, but am interested in most types of football, cricket, tennis, Athletics etc.

Not a Broncos follower though JayDee, so thought the recent debacle was quite amusing.biggrin

I know where you are coming from Jay&Dee but as a long suffering Knights supporter we have been on the wrong end of the competition ever since the Tinkler/Bennet combination destroyed the place. This season we found yet another way to self destruct but I can guarantee you that we will have some of the best home crowd numbers again next season because people here are eternal optimists. In the meantime I will have to swap over to supporting the Jets at least until the next NRL season kicks off. Good luck to all those people who still have a team left in this years race in whatever code you are following for the rest of us there is always next year.

Cheers

BB

Jaydee ...

You didn't mention the loss in the netball with our team from the Sunshine Coast going down in a shock loss.

But of course our Great Broncos Ladies had a win so that was the only bright spot in a miserable sporting weekend.

Big changes at the Broncs next season ... perhaps.

Even our second team from Melbourne are looking a bit shaky but then Canberra are not from Sydney are they?  So that makes them a Qld favourite.  We just love it in our house when there are no Sydney teams in the GF.  Not this year though.   Although we could just hope for an unlikely Canberra Melbourne GF.
