Hello, regardless of the van you want to buy, ensure everything works as it should, tyres are no more than a couple of years old , and locate a specialist who can inspect the mechanical aspect of the van and check for water leaks.

Welcome to the Forum! It has been quite useful for me in saving my funds, getting good (& perhaps sometimes not so good) advice, enjoying fellowship with other like minded people & being able to assist others sometimes.

Without wanting to put you off, have a read through posts on this board & also in the Techies board as well, a "Search" might help too but take note of the weights that you must adhere to - preventing grief down the road. There is some good advice there & it might save you some dollars.

Also peruse some of the past posts & look up a bloke called "Possum3". He often referred other members to a Caravan Council - as to whether that was good/bad/indifferent it's another source of information. There's also a Facebook Lemon page however one person is being sued by a manufacturer at the moment for bad mouthing a van/camper.

I trust we'll see you on the road one day - it's too late for you to head for "Paradise" now as all the Victorians & other "Mexicans" (those who live south of the Tropic of Capricorn) reckon our "Spring" is a warning to head back home to their constantly variable weather leaving us to enjoy our creeks & waterfalls in our "Tropical (higher humidity)" summer.

Friends of ours bought a 18.5ft second hand Blue Sky with full ensuite after previously having a Kedron with a combination toilet/shower.
Their van appears to be well built with single beds - There was apparently a faulty stove installation and the unit caught on fire (limited to stove) - The van was fully insured and stove replaced. \
They are extremely happy with their van which handles well - (Weight distribution bars fitted).

In light of their experience if you do go ahead with a Blue Sky purchase I would recommend that you have a thorough inspection with regard to electrics.

Hi Scenicview If you are not in a hurry to purchase go to the shows and do some tours of the factories in cambellfeild vic and ask owners of the van you like if they have any major problems.I doubt there would be a van out there that does not have some type of problem try to go for quality of build ie chassis,suspension,frame and roof construction,internal joinery and layout some of the cheaper vans are pushed out of the factories and not finished of rel well also check that every thing works as it can be very costly to fix and or get a good rv place to do it as they are few and far between cheers
