Fit two chains and cross them . So towbar doesnt hit the ground.

 Yes, that's what the chap who did the recent repairs suggested as a good reason for having two chains.

Hi Jamjar,
Yep you were lucky & I hope all is ok now.
I personally don't like the standard ball coupling, preferring TREG/Trigg hitches - but all can give trouble if an error is made in coupling up.

I had an incident on the Hume Highway at Tarcutta a few years ago (we still see the place where we managed to pull off the road) & the NRMA via our RACQ took our Eagle camper back to Gundagai without any issues.
