Had an ant problem in the van for a couple of weeks. Could see no entry or exit point, just had ants popping up every time I turned around. Tried all sorts of baits, nothing worked, or even slowed them down.
One day that was hot we left a damp sponge on the sink and went out for the day. When we came back, moved the sponge and under it was hundreds of ants. After cleaning up those ants, have not seen even one ant anywhere since.
Just good luck I suppose that all the ants decided to take up residence under a wet sponge.
Have tried ant rid liquid. Talcum powder around legS. Ants do not like this. Have even tried borax, water and peanut paste. The sugar ants ate that and disappeared. Make sure shackles etc r not touching ground . Spray the grey water hose and electricity And all ropes for awning and jocket wheel and stabilizer legs With an ant spray. Leave nothing like a broom leaning on van. Dry every surface including sink and hand basin. Leave no crumbs anywhere So when they r hungry they will eat the baits. They like water. Or at least mine did. Tried everything and eventually got square ant baits and put them around inside van and now they are gone. Its A mystery.

Had them in both the van and the car this year. Couldn't find the nests, so used "Combat" bait stations (even put one in the engine bay of the car) for a week or two and that sorted them. Once you've got an established nest you have to kill the Queen somehow, no good just eliminating the workers or they'll just keep coming back. Unfortunately I can't use spray or liquid baits because of the dog.

Used Talon, which you can buy in Coles
It comes in a little syringe and is like a clear gel.
Just a small dot in all the corners of the van and inside the tunnel boot stopped our ant problem
Knew a bloke who had a dead mouse stuck in an air vent that he couldn't get at, parked on ants nest for two days, dead mouse gone...............just saying, cheers Bob
