Hi all from Valkie

Hi People;

New to this forum, thought Id introduce myself.

I have been a camper most of my life, using tents from ground sheets strapped over a rope between trees, to full on super tents.

My last tent was a Diamantina category 5 resistant tent.

But a couple of years ago, the little woman developed serious knee problems (bone on bone)

After the op she found tents were out for good, so we purchased an old, well used Cub Camper.

I spent a good amount of time bringing up to spec and its been a brilliant camper for a few years.

But the time has come, we are about to retire and have just purchased a new ISUZU MU-X with which to tow a caravan around this great country of ours.

I have to admit, the thought of being one of those "damn vans" is a little worrying, but comfort wins over every time.

We are, of course , looking for a perfect van, for as little money as possible, but will probably end up with an adequate van for 2 arms and a leg.

I am an engineer and tradesman, so what ever we get, I'll fiddle with until I'm happy.

But the best place to get ideas is forums, so here I be.

Ill ask lots of questions, please bear with me.

Cheers

Welcome Valkie, nice to see you there. We all progress and adapt as we try to find the most suitable way of travelling this beautiful country. Bottom line is - just enjoy. Ive been at it a couple of years and absolutely love it. Everyone has an opinion, which is fine. There is no right way and no wrong way. Just do it. Travel safe and keep smilin. Peta

G'day Valkie and welcome to the forum.  Don't forget to try the two ongoing games here - 'Who is This' in the 'I Digress' section and 'Pick this Place' in the 'General' Section - a great source to find new places to visit.  Remember there is no such thing as a stupid question, but it sounds as though you'll have it sorted quickly.

Welcome to the gang Glen, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I too had tents etc and if truth be known still live in one as a full time GN. It's just made of Aluminium these days. I love my aluminium teepee.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.
