North Gregory Hotel. Winton.

I've heard that we cannot stay overnight at the back of the North Gregory Pub in Winton any more .

Does anyone know if that is correct please?

Hi Sandsmere

Not sure about staying behind the pub, another option if you are self sufficient is at the Long Water Hole, head down the road on the corner of the big car park, not far out of town. Coordinates are s 22 24 46.4 e 143 03 30.9
This is a free camp, you will find it on WikiCamps

Regards
Wheels

It was open three weeks ago, there was work being done near it. We stayed at the Tatts caravan park.

If anyone is in that area around Winton take the time to have a good look at "Bladensberg National Park."
Very spectacular piece of coumtry. Camping at some of the waterholes if they have any water in them.
We were there after rain and some of the roads were a bit iffy.

Opalton to the South is worth a look too. Take plenty of fuel and water, you never know where you will finish up.

Winton is the greatest place in the west if u have the time to explore the area. Leave the van in Winton.

Have fun Haji-Baba

there were vans parked in there last Thurs - there is also a massive parking area on the other side of the road with shade sails just before the Jundah Road

Hi sandsmere, there were vans there last month.

You can also camp behind the Australian Hotel across the street. No charge. Buy a drink or two??  There is water to hook up to and you can use the hotel toilets while the pub is open. The publican is a nice bloke too.
