I am wanting to wallpaper my RV bedroom, I have been advised that the glue might not stick to the shiny surface so need to use a special product called Grippon (i think) first. Has anyone experienced the wallpapering job, how did you prepare the walls. Your advise would be very much appreciated thanks. THE BLACKIES.
Looks like there are no wallpaper experts here. That's strange 'cause the forum is full of experts on everything. LOL
I don't know about wallpapering, but I needed to get rid of some of that faux timber wall sheets in my downstairs lounge room. A timber look covered by a thin veneer of 'plastic'. My builder advised 'paint it, don't replace it'.
So off to the paint shop. They advised 'lightly sand it then use an oil based undercoat before painting with a normal wall paint'. I did that & it is still perfect after 5 years.
So perhaps you should seek the advice of your paint/wall paper shop.
I suspect that they will give similar advice but include the use of a wallpaper 'sizing' before laying the paper.
You may need to choose a rather 'bland' or not to bold pattern if you want to retain resale value and choose a washable paper too.
