Managed to escape the Easter crowds and found this spot on the Edward River near Deniliquin. Here's a photo I took of our spot. Just beautiful.
Up along the road a bit this is the view of Morleys Creek by Gundagai out the van's kitchen window where we spent a bit more time.
Having a Ball.

Be nice... if I wanted my school teacher here I would have invited him...
We departed the Edward River Bridge Campground near Mathoura south of Deniliquin a few days before the Easter break after an enjoyable 4 night stay. We camped over the back near the Little Edward River Weir, nice & quiet. The Easter groups were staking out their claims to the larger sites. We've camped there 4 times in the past 5 years. It can get very busy at times & most sites have large overhanging River Red Gums. It gets soggy underfoot with leeches in wetter times. On one of our visits we had a group with a massive bonfire, loud music until 3am (Black Betty Bam Alam), fireworks & firing guns. Someone called the cops & it cost them $1200 in fines. On our recent stay the nearby Reed Beds Bird Hide car-park had nomads illegally camped in it. Mr Ranger came & moved them on. The local young lady cop loves giving campers breath tests early in the morning. The local citrus orchard has great Mandarins.
If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You have another chance.
