I am going to insulate my van and looking for the best way to prevent condensation and mould. I am currently looking at using reflectix with earthwool insulation with a R of 2.5. I have seen this been used in some tutorials and videos online but am open to take advice and hear first hand experiences regarding insulation.
I wonder how much glass residue you may get from vibrations. May be better to use polyester batts.
I used a bit of polyester in the car ceiling even though in the home I have used glass batts including a fair bit of Earthwool. You still need to be careful with it & wear a mask.
The acoustic foam insulates, just vastly more expensive. 12mm thick it stopped condensation inside the tailgate on recent Tassie trip where it was 0°C outside.
Personally I would use polyester even though it has lower R value for same thickness.
Another thought a layer of Air-cell between two thin pieces of polyester batts.
Also, single glazing looses 6 watts per square metre per degree difference in temperature. Cover aluminium window frames as well, maybe with foam tape. Might be just enough to stop condensation on those surfaces.
A layer of Air-cell inside the outer face of cupboards.
Thicker foam under vinyl floor.
