CPAP on a plane

We are flying up to Melbourne over the Easter break , and i have to take my CPAP with me , traveling Jetstar with only hand luggage,

Q is my CPAP considered as free weight, or is it counted in my take on Weight with hand luggage

Thought it would be easier to ask here than spend hours trying to contact Jetstar by Phone

It would be part of your carry on luggage which has it's limits space size , I use a small cabin case which which i place my cpap in it , You can google Jetstar carry on bagage
