Tyre Pressure calculator

Hi ..

I know this is a much debated subject amongst caravanners & perhaps some might say that the post should in the Technical sub forum.  Given its applicability to all and general nature, I decided to put it in the general forum.  If you feel that it should be in Technical, then feel free to copy it and repost it there.  LOL

My ears pricked up (or I came out of the alcoholic haze/Poppy nap) when I caught the tail end of an interview on a caravanning show (What's Up Downunder I think).  The Interviewee from G&S Chassis Manufacturers made mention of a caravan tyre pressure calculator on their web site.   Here is a link to that site ...

I tried it out using my Jayco Westport numbers & it gave me the credible calculation of 40PSI...... (39.43970588235294 to be exact).  Which is great, because that is what I arrived at using the finger in the air (or take the average of what everyone else suggests)  method over 20 years.

A very good guide Cupie.

It uses the calculation I had been told and used up until now, and gives a good starting point for everyone to use.

Its nice to have some people agree on tyre pressures.

I run similar pressures as the calculations.
