Not cool.

Hi all, our 300ltr 2way fridge in van has died. Spent many, many hours looking for a used 3way to replace (180ltr or thereabouts}. No luck locating one within 200k from Geelong. Got about $1000 to spend max. Only on a pension. Are there no caravan wreckers, people that have a van that they never use the fridge in?. Surely there are some somewhere or is there a place somewhere similar to where Elephants go to die. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Usually a happy camper

Jeppo.

Died?
What is wrong with it? Maybe easily fixed. What brand/compressor?
Cheers,
Peter

Is a standard 240V domestic fridge and a 12V to 240V inverter a possibility? I appreciate there are other issues with this suggestion but if you don't do a heap of mileage and/or lots of camping off grid it may get you out of a jam.

How old is ur fridge , sounds like a large fridge ? 230 lt is a larger fridge in newer vans , is it gas/240v . Does it work on either or neither.
