We bought the same as Dougwe - C gear. We like it because it rolls out nice and flat, has plenty of eyelets sewn in to pin it down and sand/dirt shakes out of it easy when packing up.
I like the heavy duty matting that never needs pegging down, stays flat when laid out and easily cleaned. The other stuff is like 2 layers of shadecloth stuck together. IMHO Cheers Bob
Well maybe 3.1 times better Mike IMO. I find it great under feet as well. I like to go out under the awning with nothing on....feet that is...what do you think I meant
OH! I haven't dropped my sausage on it yet so can't comment about that

We've used this type of mat for around 5 years now, without any problem, on both grass sites and over concrete slabs - nicer under bare feet than shademesh mats. Only downside, the fabric sides in the supplied bag rotted after 3 years and had to be thrown away - we now store the mat in a strong canvas camp bag.

It would have to be a damn hot sausage to melt it! We have been using ours for 8 years, regularly set up the bbq on a table on it and have I know often dropped bits of food straight from cooking onto it and its never melted. Like all these synthetic materials the CGear will melt at hot enough temperatures, but the temperature is a lot hotter than cooked food.
You are so right Meredith. I do have a small burn mark at one end though but it was caused by a visitor smoking and dropped the cig. I sorted that out and stopped smoking under my awning. A couple of people won't visit anymore but hey my lungs are better OH! No more burns either.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

I bought the Camac mat this afternoon. The store had both Camac and Cgear mats side by side and simply from the look and feel of each I could not detect a difference. I'll do a review in a few months.

Mike, have had both types, the Camec type and the type that bobdown showed. I like the feel under foot of the bobdown type, but it does not have the lifespan of the camec type. The Camec type is much more slippery
