Interesting passing maneuver.

Towing the caravan from Victor Harbor to Adelaide today, had a person pass me on the left using the run-off/ run-on lane from a intersecting road on my left. Gave me a bit of a surprise. Could have ended quite nasty for him if he had he run out of cycle track.

Had the same thing happen in Sydney when we had a caravan about 6 years ago. Since upgrading to the motorhome we've had a fair few similar incidences. But, since putting the "Wan#er Cam" sticker placed above the reversing camera the number has reduced significantly.

It seems like it is a normal manouver for a lot of car drivers. My closest encounter was in peak hour traffic a small car came down emergency lane and pushed in front of motor home , wife yelled out , I jumped on brakes and cross ways between me and truck in front was a Nissan Micra, about 6 inches from bull bar to her door. Couldn't even see her face until she moved off. Sure she noticed us though. It now co drivers job is "emergency lane over takers " spotting. Neil

The inside overtaker might have caught me out. I have a habit of pulling into the turning slip lane to let traffic go past, then on the other side of the 'T' road I use the acceleration lane to merge back in.

 Hi Phil,

Designed & made it myself as I still have my vinyl cutter from my Signwriting & Graphics days.  I've attached a PDF file that you (or anyone else that wants it) can use. Simply take the PDF file to a local signwriter, they should be able to import it into their program and "wack" one out for you at what ever size you want, shouldn't cost any more than $20.

Don't ask me to do it cause its a bit of a PITA cause all my gear & vinyl off cuts are in storage.

Regards Steve.

There should be a saying for these types:

Overtakers on the inside will soon meet the Undertaker on the other side

We had an "interesting case" too on our way down the Bruce Highway before Christmas & north of Rockhampton. We did not have the van with us but I saw a car coming up fast behind me & I was doing the speed limit. At the same time I had indicated to pass a car & van in one of our rare over taking zones. Rather than wait for me to complete my overtaking, these clowns decided to pass me on my left - BETWEEN the van & the front of my car. Luckily they backed off to prevent my bull bar from squashing their front guard!

The stupid thing about it & after they few past me was they turned left off the highway just one kilometre down the road! Why did John Howard take my rifles off me?
