Looking to go grey... just not sure how yet!

Hi all and thanks for the add.

I've been invited to join some seasoned caravanners on a lap around Australia, leaving April. That's just three months time...  fear.gif

I've got the 4WD but not the van. I'm after something small for just me, easy to tow and with a few creature comforts. It will be six months after all so I've ruled out camper trailers and tents! I need to be self-sufficient and not a burden on my travelling mates.

Anyone got recommendations for something small and rugged that would make it down the Gibb River Road if needs be?

Anyone have a van from The Little Caravan Company?

Cheers,

JB

G'day JBMarigold and welcome to the forum.  Don't forget to try the two ongoing games here - 'Who is This' in the 'I Digress' section and 'Pick this Place' in the 'General' Section - a great source to find new places to visit.  Sounds like you should be aiming for an off road van to hopefully have a bit of extra strength.  Main thing is to drive to the conditions and not push it!

Never seen one www.thelittlecaravancompany.com.au/caravan/x-scape/ Made in Campbelfield Victoria If it is as good as they claim - why aren't there more on the road?

Welcome to the gang JB, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I too don't think I have heard of that mob either. Would they be the ones that make the 'Tear Drop' confuse If so and from what you say, you will want bigger as they are, well, small. Nice tidy unit's though but small.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Thanks all. Based on the minimal info I've decided to go with something else that is well rated.

See you round!

I met the Little Caravan owner/builder at the Geelong Caravan Show last weekend. He's only been going for five years - 50 vans last year, 25 the year before, so I guess there isn't a second hand market yet. Seemed like a genuine guy but booked out until June.

So I'm looking at a 2009 VISTA RV now. There are just a few for sale secondhand and it seems to be people who are upgrading to the bigger version which says something.

Anyone know about these ones?
