Steel Wall.

Just in case you were not paying attention, what exactly is the wall going to be made out of?

Is it anything like an Iron Curtain?

Does not matter what the 20 Billion wall is made of when a big enough ladder is $39.99 at some Mexican K Mart.

Serious for the Yanks and a huge laugh for the rest of the world.

I know it's  always Trump season. Not a fan either BUT.

But why have the naysayers said nothing about the Wall in Turkey designed to do exactly the same as the Trump wall. It's there already built 900 kms long to Keep out Illegals from crossing into the West from the Middle Eastern states.

My post was not meant to start a debate about the wall, simply to draw attention to Trumps inability to express himself, I've heard kids in primary school with a better communication skills.wink

Lets hope they all make as much money as he did!

As a point of interest one of the worlds biggest walls at 40ft high surrounds the Vatican City in Rome.

When Googling walls, I was surprised re the walls being/have been built for the very same reasons that Trump is trying to do.

I respect your views Santa but....not all Presidents have skill in all fundamental areas.

Trump likely won the election because fewer people wanted Hillary. They say "you don't win a Presidency, you lose it"

Trump's power and ability is negotiation, hard as nails and knows what he is doing. He claims though he can "relate to the American people"...he was likely told to say that because he cant possibly judging on his words.

Obama was a nice guy but he allowed the US military slide into decay. Trump will revitalize it.

I suppose I've studied politics for so long I'm of the view we wait to see how his legacy is determined over time.

And there is the "Great wall of China" designed to keep the Mongolians and others out

there was a vid of what the wall might look like on Tv just recently, the interesting thing was that it had a one lane road at the base of the wall on the American side, probably so a fast surveillance vehicles can patrol it..

The walls probably a silly idea, but haveing said that I ,personal opinion here, would not like huge numbers of people entering Australia illegally...

As Trump intends building his wall in America not Australia who cares what he does, I bet for another few billion $ he could probably add a moat. I,d like to suggest a really tall glass fence as it wouldnt ruin the scenery and they could then supply the people who come to the US looking for work a bottle of Windex to clean it while they are waiting to be processed. biggrin My idea probably makes about as much sense as some of the other stuff thats going on over there at the moment.

Maybe he should study the "half see through " plastic wall on the Western Ring Road between Point Cook and Werribbee. Mexicans could jump up and down and see the Paradise they are missing out on.

Make the wall a bit wider so you can walk along it. Sell enough tickets and it's paid for!

Gday...

It is politics Ron, as you say - and bloody-mindedness on all sides ... and ya gotta admit he is the personification of the spoilt baby.

USA budget 01.JPG

That means that $5Billion for 'the wall' is a little over 1% of annual expenditure. Pales into insignificance compared to the spend on HealthCare = $3.5Trillion ...

$732Billion on welfare - $590Billion on the Military ... $5Billion is petty cash.

It's a bit like me spending $3,982 each month ... and then getting all twisted knickers over a $5 icecream.

Cheers - John

The only relevence I can see of any of this has for Australia is that if the Trump shutdown continues it could start impacting on the share markets. Its only my opinion but I couldnt care less what the yanks spend their money on we would be better off worrying about what our own mob waste our money on.

Cheers
