I've recently ''dug up'' a few more websites that give free lyrics & chords.

Long gone are the days of buying expensive songbooks.

Yep, that's a good one too Santa. I've printed off every song on it that I like over the past few years! Cheers!

Back in the mid sixties when I first started to play the guitar, sheet music cost $2.95 per song! laughing.gif

Wish I'd started ukulele way back then, only got into it a couple of years back after a health incident, pretty slow going at my age, but I'm enjoying it.

Mike Lynch (no longer with us) has produced some good stuff as well in chord melody and tabs, a lot of it available on YouTube, your probably way past this level, however, others may be interested.smile

Everyone has to start somewhere. Eighteen months ago I bought a mandolin.

It's tuned the same as a violin & the chords are completely different to any instrument that I've played before.

Learning to play it is a real challenge, keeps the old brain ticking over!

THESE things are SO easy to play, even easier than a ukulele, they sound amazing though.

Interesting you mention the Dulcimer, my wife bought one at a Bluegrass festival in Ashville North Carolina about 18 months ago, thoroughly enjoying it, in fact bought a second on a recent visit to the US, making good progress, probably better than me.

I've got a small collection of uke's now, 5 in all, seems collecting stringed instruments can become a bit of an addiction.biggrin

 Yep, that's a great one too BM.

On all of these sites I right click & take a ''screen shot'', save it to downloads library & then print it off.

I have a folder with around 150 songs in it.

 Mine also!

I copy and paste into a word document, then I can edit the font and layout more closely to the actual performance.

This process also makes it easy to put into a power-point presentation, which is much easier to follow on a tablet than the other apps etc.

I have a couple dozen folders, with around a thousand songs (maybe more ... I ain't gunna be counting them no )

cannot disagree!

I have a uke, and barely touch it ... dust it off a bit, or let the grandkids play with it a bit.

 

Also have a Kala U-bass which does get a lot of use!
