I am about to set out and will be renting out the (ex)family home with the intent to sell and downsize once I have had my fill of traveling.

I have already disposed of stuff excess to what I will need after I return but that still leaves the equivalent of a 2 (or 3) bedroom household of goods.

Can anyone recommend a good safe (cheapish) place to store that amount of goods? And a reliable firm to do the final packing/moving into store? I have already boxed most of my goods but there are a number of paintings that need to be professionally covered - plus the various beds, dressers etc.

I live in the south east of Melbourne but, as I intend to be away for two years (The best laid schemes o' mice an' men / Gang aft a-gley) the location of the store is not strongly important as any extra mileage charge would still be a low percentage of the overall cost.
