eco tourer

eco tourer, hi all, got meself an eco tourer, love it, BUT, its only got 14inch roundy things that drag it alone the road, does anybody with tons of KNOWLEGE know if I can fit 15inch wheels

to my van so I can have a bit more ground clearance, so when I cross the Nullabor, I wont have to change lanes to avoid the poor Kangaroo that got wiped out, (not by me of course), cheers, Sean.

It appears that the leaf springs may be able to be placed on top of centre axle wich would effectively raise the van's body but the axle would not gain ant more road clearance www.bing.com/images/search%3a%2f%2fwww.ecotourer.com.au%2fImages%2fHybridleafsusp.jpg&exph=280&expw=450&q=Eco+tourer+suspension&simid=608030761809283180&selectedIndex=0&qpvt=Eco+tourer+suspension&ajaxhist=0 The bump stop would need to be relocated as well. It appears there is not enough wheel arch clearance to put on larger wheels (which would completely ruin the factory set cambers, etc) I'm afraid you will have to avoid road obstructions or have a re-engineered chassis fitted.

ok Possum, thanks for that, yes, I will look into fitting the spring above the axle, but I want to fit 15inch wheels, so ill have to measure up after I raise the body, cheers Possum, Sean

The lack of traffic either way on the Nullarbour means you have no problems swerving across the lanes to miss the dead ones, same on most of the roads that have a lot of 'roadkill'. Funny there seemed to be very little 'roadkill' when we crossed the boarder into SA from WA except that which stuck to the windscreen!

I've been across a couple of times and only say roadkill after midnight. Might just be luck. After dodging 5 roos in the same spot, slowed right down and found a spot to take a nap.

I consider that i wil be a waste of time and money. Changing the wheels as you suggest will only give you 12 mm of extra clearance. That is not going to make much difference.
