Rocky, because he has an interest in all things related to safety with the products we are exposed to through purchase or any other reason has SUBSCRIBED to https://www.productsafety.gov.au/newsletter/subscribe.

I receive email advice of EVERY recall regarding ALL the products that I am interested in."

SO, you, and anyone else who cares to take note, can now subscribe to the site and receive their own advice of recalls across every product available to the public.

I won't post it again ... and given the hand-wringing desperation that is caused every time a bloody recall notice is posted ... I won't bother posting any recall notices I come across.

I will assume that every member on this forum will now have either subscribed to the Product Safety website or have no interest in them.

Rocky why dont you just ask Cindy to give you a recall topic on the forum.

Really mate. Deal with the fact that many dont want to upset you and there are many on here that are really trying to be polite but I think you are now, pushing it to the limit.

If by chance you have asked for the separate topic to be created and have been refused then honestly, just let it go. We will all survive without your links to recalls.

A 2018 diesel Commodore, I will be open here, I did not even know GMH made such a vehicle.

Just let it go mate if you arent getting support from the forum managers.....there decision may be for a reason.....

Damn it now Rocky, every time I see one of those Commodores I will be listening for the ever so familiar rattle of a diesel engine.biggrin

Back in the day when Holdens were actually Holdens, some taxi owners used to remove the old six cyl petrol and fit a 4 cylinder Perkins engine for fuel economy. Diesel fuel was cheaper than petrol in those days as well.

I noted that to date 100 people voted in the poll but this new topic has already had 174 views.

I think Rocky has tempted us all with curiosity. His warning not to open it has not been heeded unless there are 173 members on here with a MY 2018 diesel commodore.
FYI I dont have one or know anyone with that type of car so I have not complied to his order.

They don't! The new Holden Commodore is an Opel Insignia exported from Europe with Holden badges on it. Same car goes to the UK badged as the Vauxhall insignia. I hired one in the UK in 2011 with the 2.0 diesel, they've been around a while, albeit with a couple of face lifts.

This week I read Johns post on a recall for the Exceed Cross as we had only bought one a couple of weeks ago, I used the link provided to go to the site and check the VIN List. We were pretty happy to find that the sequence of numbers finished before ours so we assumed they had found and rectified the problem before it was built. Today we got the official recall notice from Mitsubishi so I can only assume that the list may not  be 100% up to date depending on when its been published. Either that or Mitsubishi dealers were happy delivering cars to their customers with a known safety risk.

Fire warnings are already posted, and seem a legitimate posting for a camping/travelling site!

Severe weather warnings would also be useful to some.

I cannot believe that this matter has caused such angst for a number of members. I have seen less useful and fitting posts on this forum many times, and they were ignored or commented on without issue. The only real information to go on suggest that 76% of forum readers are happy for the posts to continue where they are.

I do know that this certainly makes Hewy54's Grumpy Nomads post seem a lot more relevant.

I am asking the question...Rocky, have you asked the forum admin for a seperate sub forum?

Has anyone else asked the forum admin for a sub forum to accomodate Rockys fetish?

I think the whole episode on this vehicle recall subject is really just attention seeking. Most including me, dont care less whether he posts this information.

Mike Harding is correct...lets just post up every warning, recall and product failure warnings that we can find. After all, it may just apply to someone who has bought a pram for the twins that his wife will deliver in three months time. Where does it stop? If all these warnings are so important to so many members then why doesnt someone ask for a warnings sub forum?

A warning of a recall for a diesel powered Holden Commodore...really.

The real reason that Rocky has not applied as yet for a sub forum to contain his relentless assault on us regarding vehicle recalls is that once the posts are organised collectively in a designated forum then the ability to achieve his attention seeking posts will no longer serve that purpose.

The very nature of this post we are commenting in as started by Rocky is to draw more attention.

We on the most part have tried to be nice but how much further is this going to go.

This came up originally quite some time ago and he could have asked admin at that first instance.

Just keep pissing in the OPs pocket...he loves it.
