Warbirds

Anyone go to the warbirds airshow at Temora? Gotta love the sound of 5_ V12 merlins doing their stuff overhead. Hudson light bomber only one still flying, Meteor jet zooming around, RAAF put on a good show as well. Camp ground was a bit tight, had to love thy neighbor or else! Was told 25,000 attended the show. John.

I've been told it's Australia's best Show so it's on my places and things to do list. Missed last year and went to the Jetboats just up the highway the other side of the road. That's impressive too. Hope to get to Temora next year.

Sounds like you enjoyed your show.

It's a magic show, although it won't be long and they will not allow them to fly as their certification will be cancelled due to Age/Hours - make sure you get to next year's event.

Think its held every 3 years, maybe check with mr. Google, There is a tourist park at the airport but would have to be booked very early. The self contained paddock camping is ok, they had semi_trailer toilets with showers Can walk from paddock camp to airport. Joda...

It would have been a great show to see and hear. We hear warbirds flying around Toowoomba at times as there are some up here at the Toowoomba Airport (the one in town not the big new one out at Wellcamp). Earlier this year Marco Zuccoli, at 16 years of age became the youngest Australian warbird pilot. I remember, as a child, Mum and Dad taking us to Amberley Airport Base to Open Days. There were Hercules, Beverleys, Vampires etc. and you could actually climb all over and through them. Dad loved planes, could name them all. During WWII he lived near the Lowood Qld. American Airforce base. Last year we did visit the Temora and look at the planes in the museum.
