Transfer Camper Trailer Rego Vic to QLD

G'day , in a couple of months I want to transfer a Tvan registered here in Vic in my name to another person in QLD

I have looked online to see what needs to happen but I'm a little confused ( doesn't take much ) can anyone tell me what's involved , no money will change hands , that probably won't make any difference.

Regards Jacko

Gday...

Praps a phone call to a Transport and Motoring Service Centre near where the camper is headed might give the info you need - see here

This gives some idea - see here

It says -

If you move to Queensland from another state or territory, you must get Queensland registration and a Queensland driver licence. You have 14 days to register your vehicle in Queensland and may be fined if you dont.
When you register your vehicle in Queensland, you can apply to get a refund on the remaining part of your interstate registration.
To do this, you need to hand in your interstate number plates at a transport and motoring customer service centre or, if you live in a rural area, a QGAP office, Magistrates Court or local police station that provides vehicle registration services.

Cheers - John

I'm only assuming but if you transfer a motor vehicle from another state to QLD you must supply a QLD Safety Certificate (RWC) so going on that I'd say you must supply a Safety Certificate PLUS a gas certificate to transfer an interstate registered camper trailer/caravan. This applies also when you sell a car/caravan/camper trailer.

Good Luck.

Cancel the current Vic registration and hand in the plates. Get a receipt for them and you might be entitled to a small refund.

When the camper trailer arrives in Qld you will need to get a RWC (Safety Certificate) and a gas certificate. Fill out the relevant paperwork with the owners name (ID will be required) and pay the new Qld registration. TMR will issue new Qld plates. No stamp duty is payable on a trailer in Qld.
