Happened in my Jayco. It turned out to be a small non return valve in water line between tank and tap, located under the van under a saddle clamp which crushed the valve, only a couple of dollars to replace.

Gday...

Graeme, not sure if this is the same sort of thing, but sometimes, particularly when travelling for a while on roller-coaster QLD highways, I think the water held 'in the line' between the water tank/s and the pump seems to drain back. (I'm guessing).

When I get to my destination, I switch on the 12v pump and it makes noises as if it is really, really trying to prime itself and give me water but is not able to provide a proper (sometimes no) flow at the tap/s.

When this happens, I just turn the tap off, turn the pump off, wait 10 seconds or so, and switch it on again and open the tap. 99% of the time it 'clears its throat' and after a second or so it begins to pump through a decent flow of water.

Dunno if that'll work for you ... jest sayin' hmm

Cheers - John

Thx guys for your help,I found that the front tank was siphoning back to the back tank and overflowing the rear tank, mission accomplished by putting a oneway valve between the tanks,I could not believe that the front tank was empty due to being siphoned out to the rear tank and out on the ground thru the overflow.

Hi Graeme

if the tanks are syphoning then maybe you don't have your van level when attached to the tug?  Just a thought!

Maybe I should have just put in a tap instead of a oneway valve.
