Going through a rocky divorce...but finally theres light at the end of the long tunnel.
I have multiple disabilities.
Settelment should allow me to buy a new Landcruiser (?) and $100,000 caravan which will become my home till I die.
I want to get as much information about my best options so I joined this forum on the advice from several lovely grey nomads Ive met recently on the road in my most recent low tech travels using a Mitsubishi triton Ute fitted with a basic box and mattress I built myself.
My towing vehicle will be the last vehicle I buy.
And my caravan will be my permanent home.
Im looking forward to all the advice I can get from the veteran grey nomads here.

And I forgot to mention my budget will be around $200,000.
It will be my permanent home so it must be reliable and comfortable.
Around 20 feet will be a perfect sized van for me. Queen bed, dunny, shower, washing machine, genny, solar, zero interest in free to air TV but must be able to stream Netflix (yes I completely understand internet)

Welcome to the gang Phil, enjoy here and out in the playground.
As for rig etc, it is a personal choice really and I keep out of it, only to say I live on the road full time in my 20' van and Collie as listed below and had the washing machine not fitted during the build and never miss it. I am very, very comfy in it and live outside whenever I can but that all depends on the weather. make sure you get a good quality roll out awning fitted and get some good quality shade screens for it. I don't have a annex as too much weight to lug around. I have never felt like I needed one at any time. I can't be around camp fires so have to be careful of that. Heaps of laundromats around and in CVP's. I use a product called canistin or Dettol wash sanitiser added to final rinse and that kills 99% of unwanted's. I also do hand washing when weather is ok to hang cloths out. Works well for me.
Now, as for meeting someone, you sound young still so if that's what you want, there are plenty of single ladies of all ages out there. Gee, mate, ya never know, you might meet up with a 'cougar'
I was in the playground for 8 out of 12 months for 3 years and now full time for 4 years so really, 7 years in total and have enjoyed every minute and have met mostly nice people and have made life long friendships with many of them.
Just get out here and enjoy but,

G'day ibloke and welcome to the forum. Don't forget to try the two ongoing games here - 'Who is This' in the 'I Digress' section and 'Pick this Place' in the 'General' Section - a great source to find new places to visit. Plenty of potential new friends on here. I'd have to agree with Dougwe regarding advice on arig - too personal a choice really. Main thing is to make sure all the weights work for both tug and van. I know of one couple on here who started as two singles so it is possible to meet up.

Its a big welcome from us not only are there some terrific people out in the big playground but the majority of the people on the forum are happy to offer friendship and help whenever possible, the best way to select your van is to do heaps of research but start by developing a list of what essentials and desirable things you want in a van, it makes the search much easier.
If you go visiting Caravan sales yards only believe a maximum of 50% of what the salesman is saying and when you are serious about a particular van check on line with various sites to see what comments you can get from the members and any reviews done.

I can not help you with the type of caravan, as I only ever had old second hand ones.
As you already have a good idea of what you want, then it is a matter of just looking, looking, and keep looking.
Eventually you will find something which will tick most of the boxes
I agree with Dougwee about an awning, rather than a cumbersome annex
A lot of travellers I have met in the free camps, follow the sun to keep warm, and live mostly under the awning, and not inside the van
I have no idea, if you would be able to find a travelling partner, while on the road
I would suspect that most ladies who travel solo, are already happy with their lifestyle
