Towball scale

I have a scale for checking the weight on the towball, so I will obviously check the towball weight just before I leave home.

But assuming that I am not planning on adding any substantial weight or shifting things around in the caravan, do I need to bring the towball scale with me?

I am trying to minimise what I carry and it seems to me that this may not be necessary.  And if I really did need one, I might be able to ask someone nicely in a campground if I could borrow theirs  .

What do you reckon?

Cheers

Rex

Hi, I would carry the scales the first few times until you are confident with your loading plan for sure.

I don't think asking around in the camp grounds a good idea and besides that any 2 scales could be marginal different.

Yes carry your own from me, ps put sign out so I can come and borrow yours, just joking, I am pretty sure with my weights as I  drive to a close by weighbrigde.

Hope this helps.

G'day Rex,

I live in my aluminium teepee and have a towball scale that travells in it's little home in the back of the Collie for if ever needed.

I have gone through a very intensive weighing project only 12 months ago and things have not and more than likely will not change so no need to check anymore really but it is there as are weighbridges if ever needed.

Keep safe on the roads and out there.

If you are nowhere near the maximum weights I'd leave them at home but a lot of people are almost right on the maximum these days.
